Simply put, with evee, there are no big upfront costs to pay, you’ll get expert advice every step of the way, and you’ll be covered if anything goes wrong. It’s convenient, affordable and, most important of all, simple.
Our service is currently only available in the UK. Right now, all you need is access to off-street parking and the permission to install a charge point (if you’re renting). When our charge card launches – we can help simplify charging no matter what your setup is.
There are lots of different chargers out there, and it can be a bit overwhelming. To make things simple, we only offer one charger that we fully believe in. Our charger of choice (the Indra Smart PRO) is dubbed ‘the world’s smartest charger’. A big claim we know, but after testing all of the chargers on the market, we stand by it! Read more here
Yes. Our plans work exactly like a phone contract. We will transfer ownership of the charge point over to you over the course of your plan, and you will receive full ownership after 48 months.
We’ve partnered with ‘The Phoenix Works’ to help with the sign-up process and admin around your plan. We only partner with companies that we fully trust, and they are just that: an award-winning, fully authorised installation provider. You’re in safe hands!
Yes, our services are fully compatible with all electric vehicles.
You can manage your charger remotely from our web app. Once you’ve had your charger installed, you will be given the login details. After which, you can schedule when your car should charge (i.e. at the cheapest times), track how much you are spending and ask for support.
At evee, we’ve combined the best installation providers with the best hardware provider on the market, so you get both in one place. The Phoenix Works are our installation provider; they take care of installation, as well as any admin around customer service and billing, while Indra provides our world-class smart charger. At evee, we look after developing our offering (we’re always looking for exciting new features and partners) as well as the branding and marketing.
Before you sign up, we need to ask a few things about your living situation to understand how we should install your charger. We also use this time to answer any questions you may have about us, and guide you through the process of applying for an OZEV grant (see below).
The OZEV grant is a government grant worth £350 given to customers who are installing an EV charger for the first time. Almost all of our customers are eligible for it so it’s well worth applying (it doesn’t take long to sort out, and we will help you through the process step by step). In fact, there are only a few reasons you wouldn’t be eligible. These include:
- If you’ve already claimed the grant for an existing electric vehicle
- If you are updating an old chargepoint to a new one
- If you don’t have access to off-street parking
If you are still unsure about your eligibility, you can find more details about the grant here - or we’d be happy to discuss it with you as part of your consultation
We use the OZEV grant to remove any upfront installation fees and keep the monthly price low for our customers. As most people are eligible for the OZEV grant, we're expecting that most of you will apply, and therefore have already accounted for it in our cost. As a way of thanking customers for putting in the time to apply, we're offering you 6 months of evee at half price, on top of removing those pesky installation costs. We think it’s a win-win!
This is dependent on signing up to an OZEV grant (see above). Once your OZEV grant application has been verified by us, you can claim your 6 months at half price. This usually happens within a few weeks of submitting your information. It’s a simple process, and we can talk you through the steps required during your free consultation.
Most people are eligible for the OZEV grant. But if this should happen, this means you will not be eligible for our 6 months at half price offer. You will, however, still be able to claim your Amazon voucher and pay for your charger at £30 per month.
As soon as you join! We will send you a special welcome with the voucher included.
A standard install usually takes 1-2 weeks from sign-up. It takes this long because there is a bit of paperwork to sort out, and we want to ensure everything is safe and secure.
It’s really simple. We’ll set you up with a direct debit that will charge you a monthly fee. Again, this is exactly like a phone contract, so it should be very familiar.
The plan lasts for 60 months, with a 48 month break clause. After 48 months, you will own the charge point and can cancel at any time, incurring no penalty fee.
If your charger is not working at any point in the month because of faulty equipment, we’ll reduce your monthly cost for each day it is down. This will be at a ‘pro rata’ rate (i.e. 10 days will reduce your monthly cost by a third).
In the majority of cases, no. However, If you require ‘non-standard’ installation (i.e. a charger installed further from your residence, or cabling underground), you will be charged £10 for every 5m of cable needed and £50 for every hour of work required. We’ll be able to assess this quickly in your booking consultation.
Yes. Private, off-street parking is required to install our charge point. This means you need to have access to a driveway, garage or parking space outside where you live.
If you already have a home charge point and you want to swap it out for an evee plan, that's no problem. We'll come over and replace it and get your new charge point set up in no time.
Yes. We can help you set this up during installation, and you’ll be able to control your charging setting in your app.
No, we’ve got you covered if anything goes wrong. Any faults or damage are included in your monthly plan.
Yes, your warranty will last the full 60 month contract period.
Contact our customer support team via email, or through live chat on our site. You can also contact our support team through our web app. If the issue is serious, we’ll send one of our engineers out to fix it within 2 working days.
Yes. Get in touch with us and we will work with you to organise the reinstallation of the charge point. Additional fees may apply in some cases.
You can choose to upgrade your charger at the end of your plan. Your charger’s software will also upgrade automatically throughout the duration of your plan.
You can cancel your plan by contacting our customer service team. However, If you cancel before your minimum contract length (48 months), you will be required to pay out the remainder of your contract. Terms and conditions apply. As you’ll own the charge point yourself, we won’t come and uninstall it if you choose to cancel.
No, there are no hidden fees beyond the monthly costs included in your contract. If you require non-standard installation there may be some extra chargers, but these will be quoted upfront in the sign up process. Similarly, you will be charged a cancellation fee if you decide to end your contract early, but this is also made clear in the sign up process.
